Flinders University PhD Enterprise Scholarships available

Improve the Aus­tralian health sys­tem with impact­ful Health Economics/​Health Sys­tems PhD research, co-fund­ed by the CEIH and Flinders University.

Two PhD Enter­prise Schol­ar­ships are avail­able, both will be co-locat­ed between the Uni­ver­si­ty and the CEIH.

1. Flinders PhD Enter­prise Schol­ar­ship: Health Economics/​Health Ser­vices Research, clos­ing 15 August

Under­take research to devel­op frame­work or guid­ance on how eco­nom­ic evi­dence should be gen­er­at­ed dur­ing the eval­u­a­tion of inno­v­a­tive health tech­nolo­gies for pre­ci­sion med­i­cine. This project involves engage­ment with key stake­hold­ers (e.g., clin­i­cians and pol­i­cy mak­ers) to devel­op sys­tem­at­ic eval­u­a­tion approach­es to deter­mine the eco­nom­ic val­ue of pre­ci­sion med­i­cine and how to expe­dite the health tech­nol­o­gy eval­u­a­tion process, with con­se­quent impacts on health pol­i­cy and clin­i­cal practice. 

This PhD will be co-super­vised by Asso­ciate Pro­fes­sor of Health Eco­nom­ics, Hos­sein Afza­li and CEIH Com­mis­sion­er and Pro­fes­sor of Car­di­ol­o­gy, Derek Chew.

2. Flinders PhD Enter­prise Schol­ar­ship: Health Economics/​Health Ser­vices Research, clos­ing 31 August

Under­take research on eco­nom­ic frame­works to pro­mote inno­va­tion in health ser­vice set­tings. The research will inves­ti­gate incen­tives and sup­ports relat­ing to the pri­ori­ti­sa­tion, devel­op­ment, assess­ment and imple­men­ta­tion of health ser­vice inno­va­tions in health ser­vice set­tings, engag­ing with clin­i­cians, con­sumers and health ser­vice managers.

The PhD will be co-super­vised by Pro­fes­sor of Health Eco­nom­ics, Jonathan Karnon and CEIH Com­mis­sion­er and Pro­fes­sor of Car­di­ol­o­gy, Derek Chew.
