South Australia has signed an Intergovernment Agreement which provides Australian Government funding for the delivery of the SA Comprehensive Cancer Network. The SACCaN will bring together and connect clinicians, researchers and consumers to embed comprehensive cancer care for all South Australians.
Informed by and through clinicians and community, who will be empowered through access to insights by the establishment of core data and insight systems, SACCaN’s key principles include equity of access to care, a focus on cancer prevention and early detection, reducing duplication and enhancing patient centred care for all South Australians.
Work under SACCaN will provide a key contribution to the state’s prosperity, helping to drive future research investment in the state by building the infrastructure that will make SA highly competitive both nationally and internationally. This will help drive SA’s ability to grow, attract and maintain workforce, particularly for the delivery of cutting-edge treatments.
CEIH would like to acknowledge the support given by The Hospital Research Foundation Group which has been critical to the establishment of SACCaN and their commitment to supporting comprehensive cancer care in SA.
SACCaN will transform how we work together by creating a culture of collaboration and networked comprehensive care for all patients with cancer, essentially putting together the pieces for a bigger purpose.
Every piece counts, together we complete the puzzle in our fight against cancer!
The future of cancer care for SA is unfolding – stay updated.
