Data makes the possibilities endless.

About Clinical Informatics

Hear from Executive Director, Tina Hardin about Clinical Informatics at the CEIH.

More than just numbers and identifying patterns, Clinical Informatics delivers insights that dramatically impact how we deliver healthcare.

Through data driven innovation and technology enablers we can change how, when and who makes clinical decisions, develops policies and plans services. Clinical Informatics is fundamental to improving and evaluating what we do. We can upscale our ideas and programs, or downsize them, using data. We can even map out if they will be sustainable.

Best of all, data can be shared. We can use it as a tool to collaborate across the system, share knowledge, build partnerships and link with local, national and international organisations to answer important questions and generate new ideas for a better health system.

A learning health system embeds evidence throughout the entire system.

The Clinical Informatics Directorate is passionate about maximising and enhancing the health sectors rich data assets, building capability in clinical informatics, and providing better access to data across the health system to inform the creation of better healthcare.

Clinical Informatics is looking at a range of capability building enablers. One of these is through sponsorship and support of health staff in South Australia to undertake the Certified Health Informatician Australasia certificate.
