Working with students to shape the future of health

18 Aug 2025

At the CEIH, we’re excited to be working alongside students through a range of placement, project and internship opportunities. We believe a strong, people-centred health system depends on developing and inspiring the next generation of health system thinkers and doers.

That’s why we’re thrilled to welcome our newest students and recognise the value student engagement as an investment in the capability and capacity of the whole system.

Whether supporting cancer care strategy, data analysis, or stakeholder engagement, our student contributors are already making an impact. Students gain real-world experience aligned to CEIH’s priorities, while we benefit from fresh thinking, added capacity, and critical momentum on projects that matter.

What are we working on?

Recently, three Masters of Business Administration (Business Analytics) students completed an industry internship within our Clinical Informatics team. They contributed meaningfully to delivery of key business analytic tasks relating to one of our Medical Research Future Fund (MRFF) grants, which allowed them to apply their knowledge to real world business problems.

We’ve also welcomed Jahnavee, a Master of Public Health Student from the University of Adelaide. With a background in dentistry and outreach work, Jahnavee brings practical public health experience and a strong equity lens. Over 12 weeks she will be working on a project mapping the current landscape of consumer voices in consumer engagement across cancer care across South Australia – helping inform the future approach for the South Australian Comprehensive Cancer Network (SACCaN).

Soon, we’ll also be joined by a PhD intern, undertaking a year-long industry placement. Her project will explore how South Australia might better support people experiencing homelessness who frequently attend emergency departments, contributing to early thinking on trauma-informed, wraparound model of care.

We’re energised by the talent and dedication students bring and are excited to grow this work further.

Want to get involved?

If you’re a researcher or supervisor interested in student placements or collaboration aligned with CEIH’s priorities, we’d love to connect. We have a strong pipeline of project ideas and welcome opportunities to partner on shared goals.
