Apply to become a Consumer Representative on a Statewide Clinical Network

The Com­mis­sion on Excel­lence and Inno­va­tion in Health (CEIH) is invit­ing expres­sions of inter­est from con­sumers (patients), car­ers, sup­port peo­ple and com­mu­ni­ty mem­bers to join our Statewide Clin­i­cal Net­works (SCNs):

  • Renal
  • Pri­ma­ry Care 
  • Antimi­cro­bial Stewardship.

What is an SCN?

Statewide Clin­i­cal Net­works (SCNs) bring togeth­er health pro­fes­sion­als, con­sumers and oth­er experts to improve health­care across South Australia.

SCNs focus on spe­cif­ic clin­i­cal areas and work across health ser­vices to iden­ti­fy oppor­tu­ni­ties for improve­ment, lead change, solve com­plex prob­lems and improve out­comes for South Australians.

About the Networks

The Renal Statewide Clin­i­cal Net­work sup­ports high-qual­i­ty kid­ney care across South Aus­tralia, improv­ing out­comes for peo­ple with kid­ney disease.

The Pri­ma­ry Care Statewide Clin­i­cal Net­work sup­ports bet­ter access to pri­ma­ry health­care ser­vices and helps ser­vices work togeth­er more effec­tive­ly across South Australia.

The Antimi­cro­bial Stew­ard­ship Statewide Clin­i­cal Net­work sup­ports the safe and appro­pri­ate use of antimi­cro­bial med­i­cines, help­ing improve patient out­comes and reduce antimi­cro­bial resistance.

Why apply

By join­ing an SCN, you can help ensure the voic­es of con­sumers guide improve­ments in health­care ser­vices across South Australia.

We are look­ing for con­sumer rep­re­sen­ta­tives who:

  • have lived expe­ri­ence as a con­sumer, car­er, sup­port per­son or com­mu­ni­ty mem­ber in the rel­e­vant SCN’s spe­cial­ty area
  • are pas­sion­ate about improv­ing patient expe­ri­ences and outcomes
  • can share per­son­al insights to make sure the SCN’s work reflects what mat­ters most to South Aus­tralians using health services
  • com­mu­ni­cate well, work effec­tive­ly in a team to solve prob­lems and are avail­able to take part in meet­ings, work­ing groups and tasks between meetings.

All appli­ca­tions will be reviewed, and appli­cants will be noti­fied of the out­come. Mem­ber­ship will be con­struct­ed to reflect the nec­es­sary mix of knowl­edge, expe­ri­ence and skills to sup­port the rel­e­vant SCN to ful­fil its responsibilities.
