Across August and September 2026, the CEIH contributed to three major national workforce forums:
- the National Nursing Forum
- the National Health Workforce Summit, and the
- Wellness Designs’ Industry Roundtable for the Healthcare and Social Assistance sector.
These events provided an opportunity to share practical approaches to improving workplace wellbeing across the health system.
At the National Nursing Forum, our Executive Director, Consumer and Clinical Partnerships, and Strategic Lead, Workplace Wellbeing Partnerships, spoke about how leadership, governance and organisational capacity can create environments where both staff and patient care can thrive. They explored these ideas through the lens of what nursing could look like in 10 years’ time.
At the National Health Workforce Summit, the team presented Wellbeing by Design: Governing the Conditions that Sustain our Healthcare Workforce. The presentation highlighted the importance of moving from reactive approaches focused on burnout and harm towards proactive strategies that strengthen the conditions enabling workforce wellbeing.
Building on these themes, the Healthcare and Social Assistance Industry Roundtable showcased the CEIH and Women’s and Children’s Heath Network Workplace Wellbeing Partnership project as a case study of how these ideas can be put into practice.
Together, these presentations highlight the CEIH’s role in advancing practical, evidence-informed approaches to workplace wellbeing.
They also reflect growing national interest in:
- strengthening leadership and governance
- building organisational capability
- using workforce insights to guide action
- redesigning work to create healthier, safer and more sustainable workplaces.
