We’re inviting expressions of interest for a Clinical Lead and Expert Advisory Group (EAG) members to guide work on clinical registries as part of the data-driven clinical decision-making Priority Focus Area (PFA).
About the data-driven clinical decision making PFA
Data-driven clinical decision making is a high priority area in the South Australian health system as it:
- Reduces unwarranted clinical variation and supports more consistent, equitable care
- Improves safety and prevents harm through predictive analytics
- Supports clinicians in high‑pressure environments
- Enhances personalisation, efficiency, and outcomes
- Aligns with SA Health’s strategic goals and national health policy.
This PFA is focused on strengthening South Australia’s clinical registry system to ensure it is coordinated, patient-centred and able to:
- Shift effort from collecting data to using it to improve care, compare results, and achieve better patient outcomes.
- Strengthen governance, coordination, and statewide planning to support transparency, accountability, and better use of health data.
- Prioritise equity, transparency, and timely insights.
What are PFAs?
PFAs are SA Health’s top priorities for improving patient outcomes and the healthcare system. Each PFA focuses on a key theme and aims to deliver real improvements through time-limited projects.
PFAs are guided by EAGs made up of clinicians, consumers, and other subject matter experts. EAGs work together, following a clear workplan, to guide and complete their projects.
