We’re inviting expressions of interest for a Clinical Lead and Expert Advisory Group (EAG) members to guide work on sepsis improvement as part of the clinical excellence and safety Priority Focus Area (PFA).
About the clinical excellence and safety PFA
Achieving clinical excellence and safety is a high priority in the South Australian health system as it reduces unwarranted clinical variation and improves patient safety, quality, equity, and system efficiency.
This PFA is focused on sepsis improvement. Sepsis is a leading cause of illness and death in South Australia and affects people across community and hospital settings. There is a clear opportunity for system-wide improvement.
The PFA’s work seeks to ensure that South Australia has a coordinated, statewide improvement effort supported by core work streams and project activities designed to:
- Improve early recognition, diagnosis, and acute management of sepsis
- Reduce unwarranted clinical variation across Local Health Networks
- Harness digital systems and data to drive real time continuous improvement.
What are PFAs?
PFAs are SA Health’s top priorities for improving patient outcomes and the healthcare system. Each PFA focuses on a key theme and aims to deliver real improvements through time-limited projects.
PFAs are guided by EAGs made up of clinicians, consumers, and other subject matter experts. EAGs work together, following a clear workplan, to guide and complete their projects.
