CEIH recognised for supporting Defence Force reservists

28 Nov 2025

The Commission on Excellence and Innovation in Health (CEIH) is proud to have received an Honourable Mention in the Public Sector category at the 2025 South Australia Employer Support Awards. This recognition highlights the CEIH’s ongoing commitment to supporting employees who serve as Defence Force reservists.

As a silver member of the Supportive Employer Program, the CEIH has demonstrated flexibility and respect for staff balancing dual commitments. Over the past two years, the organisation has accommodated deployments, training courses, and secondments by adjusting project timelines, redistributing workloads and maintaining clear communication to support team wellbeing. This approach goes beyond compliance, reflecting CEIH’s values of collaboration and excellence.

By enabling staff to fulfil Reserve duties while continuing to lead critical health initiatives, the CEIH strengthens both national defence and healthcare innovation. Reservists bring valuable leadership, resilience, and problem-solving skills back to their civilian roles — skills that directly benefit the CEIH’s mission to improve patient outcomes and drive digital transformation across South Australia.
