925 healthcare enthusiasts connect at our 2023 Improvement and Innovation Showcase season

After a brief hia­tus, the Improve­ment and Inno­va­tion Show­case returned big­ger and bet­ter than ever in late 2023! With a renewed focus, the Show­case pro­vid­ed a valu­able plat­form for knowl­edge shar­ing across a diverse audi­ence. We were thrilled to have had 925 reg­is­tra­tions across two impact­ful series. 

The Improve­ment and Inno­va­tion Show­case pro­vides a plat­form to cel­e­brate achieve­ments, share best prac­tices, and col­lec­tive­ly forge a path towards a brighter future for health­care in South Aus­tralia. Series 11 tack­led a top­ic cen­tral to the health care sys­tem in South Aus­tralia — Strength­en­ing work­place well­be­ing for health­care pro­fes­sion­als. Through five com­pelling pre­sen­ta­tions, speak­ers from across SA Health, gov­ern­ment agen­cies, research insti­tu­tions and non-gov­ern­ment organ­i­sa­tions delved into cru­cial top­ics like lead­er­ship approach­es, good work design, local advi­so­ry ser­vices and health­care spe­cif­ic initiatives. 

Series 12 shift­ed focus to explore pos­si­bil­i­ties of Machine Learn­ing and Arti­fi­cial Intel­li­gence to improve the health­care sys­tem. Experts from our local health sys­tems show­cased excit­ing projects util­is­ing Machine Learn­ing and Arti­fi­cial Intel­li­gence to aug­ment clin­i­cal deci­sion-mak­ing and improve patient care. These pre­sen­ta­tions opened a win­dow into the trans­for­ma­tive pow­er of tech­nol­o­gy, spark­ing dis­cus­sions about its future poten­tial in improv­ing health­care for everyone.

The 2 show­cas­es attract­ed a wide-rang­ing audi­ence, with atten­dees from state and fed­er­al agen­cies, acad­e­mia, Non-Gov­ern­ment Organ­i­sa­tions and con­sumer back­grounds. Notably, 97% of atten­dees expressed inter­est in attend­ing future show­cas­es, sig­ni­fy­ing the Showcase’s suc­cess in fos­ter­ing engage­ment and dia­logue across the health care system.
