Apply to join the Dementia Care Statewide Clinical Network

The Com­mis­sion on Excel­lence and Inno­va­tion in Health (CEIH) is invit­ing expres­sions of inter­est for a Clin­i­cal Lead and net­work mem­bers, includ­ing clin­i­cians, sub­ject mat­ter experts and con­sumers with exper­tise or lived expe­ri­ence, to join the Demen­tia Care Statewide Clin­i­cal Network.

What is an SCN?

Statewide Clin­i­cal Net­works (SCNs) are cen­tral to advanc­ing clin­i­cal excel­lence and col­lab­o­ra­tion across South Australia’s health sys­tem.

SCNs bring togeth­er health pro­fes­sion­als, con­sumers and oth­er experts to lead change, solve com­plex prob­lems and improve out­comes in spe­cif­ic areas of health­care. Their work extends across the state and beyond SA Health.

About the Demen­tia Care SCN

The Demen­tia Care SCN is being estab­lished to advance the safe­ty and qual­i­ty of care for South Aus­tralians liv­ing with dementia.

The net­work will bring togeth­er clin­i­cians, con­sumers and sub­ject mat­ter experts to col­lab­o­rate, share best prac­tice and devel­op sys­tem-wide solu­tions to improve demen­tia care.

It will sup­port a per­son- and car­er-cen­tred approach and help reduce unwar­rant­ed clin­i­cal vari­a­tion in care and avoid­able hos­pi­tal presentations.

Role Cri­te­ria

Clinical Lead

As a SCN Clin­i­cal Lead, you will:

  • col­lab­o­rate with clin­i­cians, con­sumers, car­ers and key stake­hold­ers to dri­ve inno­va­tion and improve out­comes for demen­tia care across South Australia
  • pro­vide strate­gic lead­er­ship and advice to the CEIH and SA Health on qual­i­ty and safe­ty relat­ed to demen­tia care
  • rep­re­sent and advo­cate for the SCN across the health system
Clinician/Subject Matter Experts

By join­ing the SCN, you can help ensure the voic­es of clin­i­cians and experts guide improve­ments in demen­tia care across South Australia.

We are look­ing for clin­i­cians or sub­ject mat­ter experts who:

  • have clin­i­cal or oth­er expert expe­ri­ence in demen­tia care
  • are pas­sion­ate about shap­ing and deliv­er­ing real improve­ments in demen­tia care to the South Aus­tralian health system
  • com­mu­ni­cate well, work effec­tive­ly in a team to solve prob­lems and are avail­able to take part in meet­ings, work­ing groups and tasks between meetings.
Consumers

By join­ing the SCN, you can help ensure the voic­es of con­sumers, carers/​support peo­ple and com­mu­ni­ty mem­bers guide improve­ments in demen­tia care across South Australia.

We are look­ing for con­sumer rep­re­sen­ta­tives who:

  • have lived expe­ri­ence and are pas­sion­ate about improv­ing patient expe­ri­ences in demen­tia care
  • can share per­son­al insights to make sure the SCN’s work reflects what mat­ters most to South Aus­tralians using health services
  • are pas­sion­ate about shap­ing and deliv­er­ing real improve­ments in demen­tia care to the South Aus­tralian health system
  • com­mu­ni­cate well, work effec­tive­ly in a team to solve prob­lems and are avail­able to take part in meet­ings, work­ing groups and tasks between meetings.

All appli­ca­tions will be reviewed, and appli­cants will be noti­fied of the out­come. Mem­ber­ship will ensure the SCN has the right mix of knowl­edge, expe­ri­ence and skills to ful­fil its responsibilities.
