The Commission on Excellence and Innovation in Health (CEIH) is inviting expressions of interest for young people to join our Youth Advisory Group.
About the YAG
The Youth Advisory Group (YAG) brings young people together to share their experiences of using healthcare services.
The group helps ensure the voices of young South Australians are heard and used to improve healthcare services and outcomes. This is especially important when young people are moving from children’s to adult health services.
By listening to young people’s lived experience, the YAG helps shape healthcare so it is more youth friendly, inclusive and easier to navigate.
The YAG is supported by the CEIH and the Adolescent Transition Care Statewide Clinical Network.
Who can join?
We are looking for young people aged 12 to 25 years who:
- have experience using health services, potentially including moving from children’s to adult care
- care about improving healthcare experiences for young people
- are happy to share their experiences and ideas to help shape improvements to healthcare services
- are open to working with other young people, clinicians and CEIH staff
- can take part in meetings, working groups and project activities.
What to expect
YAG members can expect:
- to spend around 3 to 6 hours per month on work related to the group, including a monthly two hour meeting
- most meetings to be held online, with some in person
- support for accessibility needs, including bringing a carer or support person if needed
- to be reimbursed for their time, in line with SA Health policy.
All applications will be reviewed, and applicants will be notified of the outcome. Membership will reflect a mix of knowledge, experience and skills to support the YAG to fulfil its responsibilities.
Applications close Friday 5 June 2026.
