About the network

The Sur­gi­cal and Peri­op­er­a­tive Care Statewide Clin­i­cal Net­work (SPC SCN) is ded­i­cat­ed to improv­ing health out­comes and expe­ri­ences for all South Aus­tralians through­out their sur­gi­cal journey. 

The SPC SCN works to ensure access, appro­pri­ate­ness, and effi­cien­cy in sur­gi­cal care, while reduc­ing unnec­es­sary pro­ce­dures through pre­ven­tion and optimization.

Our role

  • Advo­cate for high-qual­i­ty, evi­dence-based care.
  • Col­lab­o­rate with stake­hold­ers to iden­ti­fy and address sys­tem priorities.
  • Seek inno­v­a­tive solu­tions to health­care challenges.
  • Act as a con­duit for infor­ma­tion shar­ing and deci­sion-mak­ing across the system.

Our focus

Our focus for 2026/2027 is work­ing with Depart­ment of Health and Well­be­ing to sup­port the imple­men­ta­tion of the SA Health – Improv­ing Access to Elec­tive Surgery Plan (PDF 263KB).
