We’re excited that the Genomics Digital Pathway and Consent project has been recognised with the SA Health Award for Innovation, recognising its transformative impact on genetics consultations in South Australia!
Developed through a partnership between the Clinical Genomics Statewide Clinical Network, the CEIH, and the Women’s and Children Hospital Network (WCHN), this Australian-first digital pathway streamlines pre-clinic data collection, online consent, and appointment management, enhancing accessibility and efficiency.
The initiative has already helped over 1,600 families, significantly improving patient preparedness and reducing consultation times. With 93% of users reporting improved clinical visit preparation, the project sets a new standard in digital health solutions.
The success of the Genomics Pathway paves the way for broader adoption across SA Health and beyond, with interstate genetics units already trialing its implementation.
