Welcome to our Acting Clinical Lead for the Statewide Adolescent Transition Care Clinical Network

We wel­come Damon Fenech as Act­ing Clin­i­cal Lead for the Statewide Ado­les­cent Tran­si­tion Care Clin­i­cal Net­work (SATC­CN), for the next 6 months.

Damon (pic­tured with Kate Turpin, SATC­CN Net­work Advi­sor) is a reg­is­tered nurse with sub­stan­tial senior clin­i­cal and oper­a­tional expe­ri­ence in Adult and Youth Men­tal Health Services.

Orig­i­nal­ly from York­shire, work­ing in both Europe and Aus­tralia, Damon has worked exten­sive­ly with indi­vid­u­als with com­plex, high-risk pre­sen­ta­tions with a poten­tial for a life­long impact, and has had sub­stan­tial suc­cess in many con­tem­po­rary ser­vice developments. 

Since mov­ing to Aus­tralia in 2010, Damon has focused on pri­ma­ry and sec­ondary based com­mu­ni­ty care tran­si­tion­al part­ner­ships espe­cial­ly in the areas of ado­les­cent and youth men­tal health. He cur­rent­ly co leads the North­ern Ade­laide Local Health Net­work (NAL­HN) mul­ti-agency Youth Men­tal Health Ser­vice and man­ages the NAL­HN con­tin­u­ing care com­mu­ni­ty men­tal health services. 

With a pas­sion for try­ing to pos­i­tive­ly change the tra­jec­to­ry of young peo­ple with life chal­lenges, whilst valu­ing lived expe­ri­ence involve­ment in strate­gic ser­vice design and deliv­ery, Damon is proud and excit­ed to be offered the oppor­tu­ni­ty to build on the amaz­ing work already under­tak­en by the Ado­les­cent Tran­si­tion­al Care Net­work and cre­ate true syn­er­gy with our South Aus­tralian com­mu­ni­ty in need and the Com­mis­sion for Excel­lence and Inno­va­tion in Health.
