Apply to become a Steering Committee member on the Chronic Pain Statewide Clinical Network

Statewide Clin­i­cal Net­works are an impor­tant statewide engage­ment struc­ture to con­nect clin­i­cal experts, con­sumers, and oth­er col­lab­o­ra­tors on agreed pri­or­i­ties to improve the South Aus­tralian health system.

The Chron­ic Pain Statewide Clin­i­cal Net­work vision is to devel­op a strong, con­nect­ed and inclu­sive com­mu­ni­ty of prac­tice which pro­motes evi­­­dence-informed pre­ven­tion, ear­ly inter­ven­tion and man­age­ment of pain across the life span for all South Australians.

We are seek­ing appli­cants who:

  • are pas­sion­ate about improv­ing care and expe­ri­ences for patients and their families
  • pro­vide organ­i­sa­tion­al and clin­i­cal lead­er­ship with­in the health sys­tem and be con­sumer focused across all sectors
  • assist in the analy­sis of cur­rent and pro­ject­ed ser­vice demand across all aspects of ser­vice delivery
  • assist in address­ing clin­i­cal vari­a­tion and improvements
  • are able to com­mu­ni­cate effec­tive­ly, work well in a team and be good prob­lem solvers.
  • are avail­able to par­tic­i­pate in activ­i­ties of the Steer­ing Com­mit­tee, includ­ing face to face meet­ings, work­ing groups and some work con­duct­ed between meetings.

We are look­ing to expand the exper­tise with­in our Steer­ing Com­mit­tee, par­tic­u­lar­ly in the areas of:

  • chron­ic pain in Abo­rig­i­nal and Tor­res Strait Islander people 
  • Gen­er­al Prac­tice, pri­ma­ry care and/​or pri­vate sec­tor pain care 
  • chron­ic pain in old­er persons 
  • pain research and/​or education 
  • chron­ic pain in adolescents 
  • consumer/​carer lived expe­ri­ence and/​or representation.

If you have exper­tise in any of these or oth­er chron­ic pain relat­ed spe­cial­ty areas, we would love to hear from you!

All appli­ca­tions will be reviewed, and appli­cants will be noti­fied of the out­come. Mem­ber­ship will be con­struct­ed to reflect the nec­es­sary mix of knowl­edge, expe­ri­ence and skills to sup­port the Chron­ic Pain Statewide Clin­i­cal Net­work to ful­fil its responsibilities.

Suc­cess­ful can­di­dates will be required to sub­mit a let­ter of endorse­ment (Word, 75 KB) from their organ­i­sa­tion agree­ing to sup­port them to attend meet­ings and/​or par­tic­i­pate in oth­er Clin­i­cal Net­work activ­i­ties dur­ing work­ing hours.
